Obituary for Michael Wray
Michael Edwin Wray, born on June 6th, 1941 in Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully at his home on December 8th, 2017. Michael is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rochelle (Bauman) Wray. Mourning the loss of their father and grandfather are Lisa, Paul, Hannah, Lauren, Madelyn and Abigail Estabrooks of Toronto. Michael is predeceased by his loving son, David. Son of the late Joseph and Ella Wray, he is also survived by his brother Dennis (Betty) Wray and predeceased by his sister Barbara (Don). Michael is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Michael attended the University of Toronto, where he graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1964. This is also where he met his wife of 53 years, Rochelle ("Shelley"). Michael successfully ran a business partnership in the I.T. industry for many years and he retired at the young age of 56. Michael had a keen interest in technology, was a master craftsman and loved spending weekends at home with his four granddaughters. He had a love of animals and nature, and the cottage was his favorite place. Michael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. His caring personality, sharp wit, and generous heart will carry on forever in the hearts and minds of those who loved him. A Memorial Service for Michael will be held at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home, 8911 Woodbine Avenue, in Markham on Wednesday December 13th at 11:00 a.m. For those wishing to make a donation, the family suggests the Heart and Stroke Foundation, a favorite charity of Michael’s.
