Obituary for Usha Madan (Kapoor)
Mrs. Usha Madan (Kapoor) passed away at age 70 at Scarborough Grace Hospital, Ontario, Canada, on Monday, July 17, 2017.
Born on August 20, 1946 in Lahore, India, she grew up in Delhi and completed a BA Hons in Sanskrit at Miranda House, University of Delhi.
Usha married Ravi Madan on December 9, 1967. Together they settled in Toronto, Canada in 1969 and raised their daughter Rashmi and son Rishi. Usha worked with the Royal Bank of Canada and then Symcor until she retired in 2010.
Usha is survived by her husband Ravi, daughter Rashmi, son-in-law Piush, son Rishi, daughter-in-law Fion, and 4 grandchildren Dilan, Kiran, Nikhil and Bela.
Usha loved having fun. She loved to organize parties and get-togethers, going for picnics and to the beach, dining out and seeing shows. She faithfully went for her swims and to the gym.
Usha loved to travel. She embraced each trip as a new adventure; an opportunity to explore and learn. Visiting with family was most important to her. She took road-trips and long airplane journeys to see her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and family all over the world.
Usha was a gracious host. She enthusiastically received family and friends, near and far. With a big smile she met each visitor at the airport. Each day she personally guided them to Toronto's sights and always guaranteed a trip to Niagara Falls was on the itinerary.
Usha was giving of her time. She was always willing to spend time with you to chat and talk. She was self-less in her love and care for her husband and her children. She never missed a birthday or anniversary. She loved her grandchildren and her grandchildren loved their "Dadi/Nani". They loved going to the swimming pool, playroom and park with her. Kids said her cooking was the best - in particular her tandoori chicken and pizza!
We will miss her energy, smiles, laughs and unconditional love.
