Obituary for Susan Mary Gamble

Susan Mary Gamble
GAMBLE, Susan Mary
June 3, 1945 – January 11, 2017

Our darling lady passed away gently on January 11, 2017 at the Palliative Care Unit of Markham-Stouffville Hospital. Her passing took place with her most loving husband, son, Thane and daughter, Megan and her husband, Paul, sister-in-law, Frances and her husband Jim, sister-in-law, Rene all there. The kind and compassionate Dr. Patterson and the caring and warm nurse Andrea looked after her and all the family with exquisite kindness. She will be greatly missed by her beloved grandchildren Owen, Noel and Reid.
Susan was born in Nottingham, England and later moved with her family, father Baldwin, dear mother Betty and sister Jill to be closer to London. Susan attended Kingston College in London and then started her career as a marketing researcher for a major advertising agency. She decided to move to Canada, as her sister had and was soon employed by Adrian Gamble, Fergus’s father, at Adcom Research. Ten days after arriving in Canada she met Fergus at a wedding of her sister’s friend. To Fergus’s and Susan’s surprise they both met again at the Adcom office a few days later. And so began the most unique loving relationship that will endure even with her passing after nearly 46 years of living, loving and working together which included eventually founding their own company. They were fortunate to travel together to many unusual places in the world as they loved to experience other cultures and lands not seen by most people – Papua New Guinea, Bhutan and Antarctica with 250,000 penguins were favourites.
A Celtic Celebration of Life will be held for Susan at Chapel Ridge Funeral Home 8911 Woodbine Avenue Markham ON L3R 5G1 on Wednesday January 18th, 2017 at 2:00 pm. Condolences may be made at
Those who would like to make a donation in remembrance of Susan please do so to a charity of your choosing.

Dear Family & Friends

To follow up with everyone, Sue’s webpage has been created by us with the charming assistance of Karen at the Canadian Cancer Society in Newmarket. Anyone who wishes to make a donation to Sue’s fund to help battle metastatic melanoma can go directly into this site:

As it turns out when the evil mucosal melanoma metastasizes it does not apparently differentiate significantly from the much more common metastasized skin version. So funds gathered will benefit research funding of both the mucosal and skin versions. All funds collected in her name will go towards this fight.

On behalf of myself and all our family who have been so wonderful supporting each other over the past few days, thank you for your kind consideration in going after this particularly nasty disease.
