Herman Heinrich Usling

Passed away unexpectedly on the 14th of October, 2013 in Newmarket, Ontario.
Herman was born on the 13th of November, 1933 in the town of Loehne, Westfalen, Germany. His parents were Hermann Heinrich Friedrich Usling and Martha Johanna Eickhoff.
Herman grew up in Loehne where he was the second youngest of six children. He became a cabinet maker in Germany and emigrated to Toronto,Canada in March of 1955. He worked hard at his trade eventually became a partner in General Wood Products, a store fixtures plant.
He married Gisela Helene Milkowski, a native of Zoppot, Danzig on the 19th of November 1955 in Toronto. They lived for many years in High Park and then Etobicoke before moving to Markham in 1980 and then Newmarket in 2012. Herman and Gisela spent many happy times at their cottage in Wilberforce and on their many trips to Arizona and to Germany to visit family and friends.
Herman loved to work around the house andin the garden. He enjoyed playing Skat with his friends at the DonauSchwaben Club in Scarborough. He had a great sense of humour and he was a kind and loving father, grandfather and husband. He is survived by his wife Gisela, and his sons, Gary (Anne) of Oakville, Larry (Sandra)of Florida, and Jeffrey (Sylvia) of Newmarket and by his grandchildren, Jennifer, Michael, Steven, Matthew, Vaughan, Vince,Michelle and Sam.
